A pretty eventful change happened in my year happened when a leader from The Race put a question on my heart

“Hey Carter, we need a boy squad leader for this upcoming year, would you consider applying?”

My initial response, “probably not. I’d love to do it, it’s a goal, but I don’t think I’d be able to, I’m too young, I’m not influential—”

Hush.

So I went to pray about it, the Lord gave me an unusual word,

“But God has chosen the foolish things of this world to shame the wise.” – 1 Corinthians 1:27

The Lord began to show me that any criteria I had for why I could or couldn’t be a good squad leader wasn’t important, it’s just the wisdom of the world. Carter, I want to use you.

“Ok God.”

A week later I was accepted, and a week after that I got on a plane headed for Atlanta. following my Good Shepherd.

Training Camp

After spending a week at the Base in Georgia with just the leaders, we began to meet the first racers, and begin the most transformative season of our lives: Training Camp. Specifically my squad is D Squad.

My Team! – From Right to Left, Bridger, Presley, Me, Ezra, Parker and Tony

Our days at training camp have been filled with worship, soaking up his presence and loving each other.

God has been faithful to create testimony upon testimony for every person who hungers for him! Freedom is so real in Jesus’ name, with my own eyes I’ve seen countless people set free from anxiety, physical pain, addiction to porn, wounds from their past, insecurities, even spiritual dullness. He’s delivering his people!

And it’s for the purpose of sonship

“The eagerly awaiting creation waits for the revealing of the sons and daughters of God”    – Romans 8:19

HE IS REVEALING HIS CHILDREN. He is waking us up to who we really are. If you pray for anything over my squad, pray for their revealing, pray for the exposing convicting light of Christ to come reveal us to the world!

Never could I have imagined I’d be in this place! But God has been so good to lead me here and prepare me along the way. I’m so grateful for all of you who read these, and have kept up with my intermittent blogs over this past year. I truly believe the Lord has a special portion for all of you at home to meet with him and encounter him wherever you are at!

Thank you Jesus that it was never because of what I did that you decided to give your life for me on the cross. Thank you Jesus that you loved me first. Thank you Jesus for saving me from my dead life to live for you!!
