Hey y’all!
Intro
If you’re reading this you probably know who I am and a little about what l’m doing but either way an introduction is due: My name is Carter and for the next year I’m headed around the world on a gap year mission trip called the World Race. And with my squad I’ll be going to Malaysia, Thailand, Eastern Europe and Guatemala to spread the Gospel while being Jesus’ hands and feet!
The Blog
This space is my blog, on here I’ll record the things we do, places we see, people we interact with a lot more, and also how God is at work in the people around me and my heart. So for the next couple weeks I’ll be recording my experiences here in Georgia at training camp, before we head to Mississippi for domestic ministry!
”look at the fields, they are white for harvest. Already the one who reaps is receiving wages and gathering fruit for eternal life” – Jesus of Nazareth (John 4:35-36)
Why I’m going
I’ve chosen to give God my yes. Yes for him to do with me whatever he desires. Jesus’ love is what restored my life and it’s the only thing that can give anyone life in the first place. The World Race is yes, an opportunity to go share Gods love, life and healing around the world but it’s also an invitation to bring that back home someday so the Lord can use me to be a witness for the rest of my life (pretty big picture). But yeah! The fields are white for harvest! and the ones who want to work are actually being transformed in the process, or gathering fruit of eternal quality as Jesus says.
So I hope you stick along as I go! And who knows you might find you’ll go somewhere too:)
– Carter
Carter,
I’m so proud of you and I can’t wait hear about all the amazing things you will be doing.
Dad
I love your yes, Carter. It’s so important to our own growth-obedience to Christ when he calls. Love it! Blessings.
We are praying for you this year. Jesus, bless Carter and his group as they travel and share your word with the lost. I pray for peace along the way, courage, boldness, and faith. Keep their bodies strong and help them to sleep well amidst all of the change. We pray that you will keep their group close as well. Here is a verse that the Lord gave me when I was living overseas and I had to trust God for each day.
“I will lead the blind by ways they have not known, along unfamiliar paths I will guide them; I will turn the darkness into light before them and make the rough places smooth. These are the things I will do; I will not forsake them.” Isaiah 42:16
